Quaker Historical Texts & Publications:

These are primarily complete online texts (you can read the various books or documents online, or by downloading the relevant files).  

  • Quaker Electronic Archive. George Amoss' archive collection of Quaker journals, books, epistles and other texts.
  • Quaker Faith & Practice. Stuart Burbridge's online edition of this invaluable source of guidance and testimony of Quaker worship. (Also available for download as a PDF file which must be read with Adobe Acrobat, or as a freestanding file which needs no extra software.)
  • Quaker History Archives. Ben Harris's site, which includes the text of The Anarchy of the Ranters, by Robert Barclay.
  • Quaker Historical Texts. Compiled by Larry and Licia Kuenning.
  • QuakerInfo. Dedicated information site from Bill Samuel with articles and resources on Quakers and The Religious Society of Friends.
  • Quaker Pages. Peter Sippel's collection of historical Quaker Writings and Quaker Homiletics.
  • Who Reads History Anyway? Includes online texts of The Journal of George Fox, (with an On-line Guide to the Journal); The Last Testimony of James Naylor; The Journal of John Woolman, and A Quaker Page, with a listing of other accessible online texts and resources.

Quaker Publications:

There are many publications in print, but few are yet available online. Fortunately, the following are:-

  • QUEST (Quaker Ecumenical Seminars in Theology). A Progressive Journal and Forum for Discussion and Study on Quaker Theology.
  • The Friend. 'Independent Quaker Journalism since 1843'. (Some editions available for download.)

  • Families of Religions. Provides information on 'multiple deity, one deity and no deity' religions of the world.
